Panther Pub, Allamuchy New Jersey

Finally had the opportunity to get to the Panther Pub in Allamuchy, New Jersey.  If you are unfamiliar with the area, first know that Allamuchy is pronounced Al-uh-moo-chee.  Then know that Allamuchy is essentially comprised of one gated community (Panther Valley) a bunch of farms, and a strip mall.  In this strip mall is a new pub that opened in February of 2012.  It took me over three months to get there for the first time, but I am glad I did.

This is Burger Mayhem’s first perfect score, after nearly a year of rating establishments.  Long story short, I loved the burger, ordered more fries, and had the opportunity to drink my favorite IPA, all in one meal.  If anything approaches perfection, the Panther Pub is it for me.

Tasty Burger

The combination of the bun, meat, bacon, and bleu cheese created something extraordinary.  There was a sweetness to the brioche bun that was unlike any bun I have ever tasted.  The burger was cooked to perfection, and I have dreamt about it several times.

Bang for your Buck

I oscillated on this rating for two reasons.  The first is that the beer was $5.50 for Victory Hop Devil.  While I am used to this price point for beer, I am not used  to it in Northwest New Jersey.  The second reason is that the sides were extra.  Usually, this is an automatic deduction.  However, the fries were so good that I would have paid just about ANY amount of money to eat them.  Overall, The meal was more than worth the price.

Looks

This is the most difficult rating to score perfectly on.  However, when my meal landed on my plate, I wanted to devour everything.  This rating is merely in to keep joints from earning a perfect score.  There was nothing on my plate that would have given this burger a low score, so a 5 was necessary.

Sides

THESE FRIES ARE THE DEVIL.  We actually ordered more fries after our meal.  I kept insisting to the group that there was a light mayonnaise flavor, but no one believed me.  Crunchy, hot, and flavorful.  Frighteningly good.

The Joint

They got this right.  The interior is essentially split in two, with a sizable bar area one side, and the dining room on the other.  The bar has TVs, the dining room does not, which gives you options.  While brand new, the place seemed as though it had been around a while, which gave it a nice feel.  It is definitely a place to watch a game, eat with your significant other, or simply drink with your friends.

Conclusion

Go there, and go there yesterday.  It is fully worth the trip.  If you are in the market to go out to eat, this is a must go.

Nice review. I do think those fries had you in a spell because I ended up giving it a 4.4. The price was a bit steep and the plate wasn’t overly impressive. With that said it was an AWESOME night of food in drink. I agree with you, run don’t walk and have a burger there.

By the way your photo didn’t do the burger justice. Here was mine with balsamic glazed onions.

Just saw that the Panther Pub charges you for EVERY SOFT DRINK! Luckily for them, I only drink beer, or this rating would have been in the toilet. I truly hope this was an error on the part of an inexperienced server.
